Winchester Cathedral (Late 14^th and early 15^th century)
	West Facade Many Perpendicular facades are modest in scale and mainly serve to enclose the interior space. Here the great window gives a weightlessness to the interior and tends to explode the traditional facade solidity. Notice how the porches which lead into the great nave are built to human scale. Alcune facciate dello stile perpendicolare hanno proporzioni modeste e servono soprattutto a racchiudere lo spazio interno. Qui la grande finestra da leggerezza all'interno e tende a far esplodere la tradizionale solidità della facciata. Notare come i portici che conducono nelle navata centrale sono costruiti a dimensione d'uomo.
Wall painting fragment This wall painting fragment is from the late twelfth century. Originally a common decoration in English churches, very little medieval wall painting has survived. *Frammento di pittura muraria* Questo frammento di affresco è della fine del dodicesimo secolo. In origine una decorazione comune nelle chiese inglesi pochissime pitture murarie medioevali si sono salvate.
